We are looking for a Engineering Manager to help drive operational excellence across our engineering and maintenance function. You will be responsible for leading a small team, maximising equipment reliability, reducing downtime and delivering proactive maintenance strategies while ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and performance. This role would suit someone with an electrical bias to help support the wider team.

What you’ll be doing:
Lead and develop the Engineering & Maintenance Team, driving a high-performance
Deliver planned and reactive maintenance to maximise equipment reliability and minimise downtime
Own engineering performance across HSE, OEE, maintenance, reliability, projects, 5S and budgets
Drive proactive maintenance, root cause analysis and continuous improvement to improve asset performance
Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives, engineering projects and contractor management
Ensure compliance with HSE, engineering standards and legislation
Develop team capability through training, succession planning and skills development
Collaborate with Operations and key stakeholders to achieve site and business objectives
Provide clear performance reporting and support operational and strategic decision-making
Maintain high standards of housekeeping, engineering discipline and workplace behaviours
Respond effectively to operational challenges, demonstrating strong technical and leadership expertise
Who we’re looking for:
Significant experience in a manufacturing maintenance/engineering environment
Proven experience developing or leading engineering/maintenance teams
Strong knowledge of planned and reactive maintenance, fault finding and problem solving
Excellent communication skills
Electrical Bias is desirable
Demonstrable experience in reliability improvement, RCA, OEE and Continuous Improvement/Lean Manufacturing
Experience managing engineering projects, contractors and budgets would be beneficial
Strong understanding of HSE requirements and engineering compliance
NVQ Level 3 or above
18th Edition is beneficial
IT literate, including CMMS, Excel, Word and PowerPoint
A hands-on, proactive and commercially aware approach to engineering leadership
