Project Engineer
This role delivers capital engineering projects that improve safety, efficiency, and capability across our UK manufacturing sites, turning ideas into operational reality.
Salary: £48,162.29 + 10% company bonus + private medical insurance
Location: Darlington, with occasional travel to our Morley site
Reporting to: UK Head of Engineering

What you’ll be doing
As a Project Engineer, you’ll:
Coordinate and deliver capital investment (CapEx) projects across UK manufacturing sites
Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget
Work closely with engineering, production, and operational teams to understand site needs and develop practical solutions
Support the development of project scopes, technical specifications, and supplier selection
Engage and manage OEMs, contractors, and suppliers throughout project delivery
Monitor project progress, budgets, risks, and timelines, escalating issues where needed
Ensure all work complies with health, safety, environmental, and regulatory standards
Contribute to engineering standards, best practices, and continuous improvement initiatives
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who combines engineering understanding with a strong project mindset. You’ll ideally have:
Experience in an engineering or project-based role within a manufacturing environment
Exposure to capital projects such as new equipment installation, modifications, or upgrades
Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
A structured, organised approach to planning and problem-solving
Good awareness of health and safety requirements in an industrial setting
A degree in Engineering (or a related discipline) is preferred but not essential
Familiarity with tools such as MS Project, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
